Even though the battery lasts and lasts without charging, I went ahead and purchased this extra one as a back up just in case. I like to get authentic Canon batteries for their dependability.

Although the battery states it is for the Canon G10, I purchased it for my new Canon G11. It fits perfectly in the G11…

I have taken almost 300 images with two identical batteries in both of my Canon PowerShot G10 and G11 cameras. The battery capacity symbols still show full power! I can max out a 4 GB card and still have power remaining.

This battery will outlast the Canon EOS 5D BP-511A battery in a side by side shoot out.

prompt delivery, battery performing well . Too soon to judge durability and longevity. Perfomance so far is good. not cheap, still very competive price.

I used this battery for a week in temperatures ranging from 20 to 40 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. Even fully charged, the cold caused the battery to lose about 25% of its charge, however I was still able to take more than 250 photographs before having to switch to my backup battery. I was impressed.

What can I say? It's a battery! It powers the camera. It holds a charge. Eventually it will wear out.

It's nice having a spare battery for backup. Maybe I didn't need to get it, because the Canon battery is pretty big, the battery charger that comes with the camera is pretty compact, and I'll probably take it along when I go on motorcycle rides. Still, it will be good to rotate the batteries in my camera, as they can only go through a finite number of discharge/recharge cycles.

Plus, I might be on the Nez Perce Rally out in the boonies of Idaho, nowhere near line current... That spare battery will be worth its weight in plutonium if we're three days in and the camera needs a fresh battery just when Bigfoot decides to raid our camp!

Hope I can take enough good pictures to make it all worth it.
